Well, we made it! Whoo hoo! lol... For those of us who have a challenging Christmas, it's over!
Now it's time to pull out the New Year decorations.
Put away the tinsel tree and ornaments, and Santas and nativities.
I scanned eBay for Christmas eve and day deals, but didn't find any.
Hope you got what you wanted this year, I got a nice, quiet day.

Nice and quiet day too here. And we love this. Normally we pull out the Christmas decorations in late January because we are really lazy regarding this!:D
ReplyDeletei am still waiting for my present - it comes on the 29th and as its a puppy all christmas decorations will be put away! and of course retro stuff that can be chewed!
ReplyDeleteWell it' still raining here, unreal! Hope you haven't been too affected by all the rain you've had in California, don't know if you're in the vicinty of it-?
ReplyDeleteIt'll be January before all of my Christmas decos are put away lol..
ReplyDeleteA puppy! How fun!
Kitty I was in the general area of the heavy rain, but luckily my 1950's Atomic Ranch House is on high ground. Not on a hill or anything, but well above where any flooding occurs!
Glad we all made it through--I made a big pot of celery soup so we had that for our "feast". Very cold here but no snow this far south. This is usually our quiet time of year weather-wise but come Spring we get rain, tornados and then of course hurricane season starts (groan) on June 1!
ReplyDeleteRained a bit last night and today, which I love!
ReplyDeleteI had my Christmas shrimp for dinner ha ha, and rewatched Mad Men Season 2... Funny, it's not a super exciting show... The fashions, interiors and business dealings are good, but it's not a plot with much of a punch. I wonder why it's so popular?
My pad looks like the day after 3 Christmas' right now :P What a mess. I don't have any New Year's decor, so the tree will stay up for a while until I get the energy up to tackle it.
ReplyDeleteNo rain or sn*w (four letter word) here.
Mad Men... now that could start a whole wave of opinions. I sat Dad down with me to watch the premier episode, since he'd worked at a big ad agency throught the 60's himself as an artist. And he absolutely HATED it!!!
I don't know...Madmen grows on you! It's not fast paced, that's for sure. But, I am addicted. My Mom says, "All they do is smoke, drink and sc**W!" She's right! But they do it with style! I totally remember all the smoking and drinking. The smoking went on everywhere! It's funny to think about now. Zootsuitmama
ReplyDeleteP.S. Happy day after! I'm still making homemade pumpkin bread.
Mad Men:
ReplyDeleteIt's human drama, with slow character and plot development... Which I LOVE, but most people hate!
I mean, I like movies and series like that. Of course because Mad Men is done in the early 60's gotta love the interiors and fashions and such, but for all of the thousands upon thousands of movies and series I have watched and talked about over the years, slow drama is not what others like to watch...
So I'm curious why this one is so popular... =/ =)
Smiling as I write this, when I got up this morning and looked at the living room...I thought what a beautiful mess.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a wonderful New Year.
I love the Santa graphic at the top of your post! After a busy Christmas Eve and Day, I had a very relaxing day today, which I needed!
ReplyDeleteI've spent a good bit of the day in bed. I came down with a horrible head cold several days before Christmas and almost had no voice yesterday, so I figured it was time to slow down and try to get well.
ReplyDeleteHonest to goodness I walked into the wrong house and nearly got eaten by some mean dogs.
ReplyDeleteJust was not paying attention and was completely sober. Oyvey.
Lovely blog.
1950s,
ReplyDeleteI did read you were glad it was over and thought of you when I was deconstructing the tree!
I haven't stopped thinking about what it must be like to have a hideous relative. I can't imagine the stress that must cause you.
Somehow you need to exorcise him from your life.
