OK, so I got them anyways, even though I said I wouldn't in my post less than an hour ago.
BUT they are the same design as a set of four vintage space posters I intended on buying a week or two ago.
I edited the photo, so they are not as yellow as this. I had to bump up the brightness and contrast to show them better.
Sputnik!

I have a thing for Sputnik. If I can figure out my printer I can photograph these and make my own posters. The seller of the posters mentioned above never replied to my email asking about their size anyways.
You snooze you lose!
Love the vintage space race items. Have my eye on a couple other choice things.

You could make a mobile of them... or a lampshade or something, they are really cool!
ReplyDeleteOoo a mobile. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteOh!! I almost forgot! I'm finally getting my act together to send out the 1st 15 stuff. I need your address! Just email me at octopusmoustache@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteThanks! -Amber

Those are awesome, perfect for your room!
ReplyDeletePerfect!
ReplyDeleteI've always had a thing for 50s era space items! I have two sets of these - one for show and one to play with my 9 year old...
ReplyDeleteoooh nice finds! i've also got a thing for the 1960's space age era- love the music at that time.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I'm dying... I want them SO badly!
ReplyDeleteNice pick up! Congrats.
ReplyDeleteWow! I still have the same set of cards from my childhood, they were one of my favorites, the images were so evocative of the future of space travel. I'd like to play the game with my 12 year old son, but I can't remember the rules anymore : (
ReplyDeleteWould you be so kind as to post the rule sheet again a little bigger, so I could read it through?
thanks!
Hi Kim, make another post indicating you are checking my blog, and I will be happy to post a pic of the rules. I just don't want to do it unless you will see them. =)
ReplyDeleteHi again,
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm finally back. I can't believe I've let so much time slide by, apologies for that. I'm still very interested in playing Space Race again with my boy, Ned.
We've been a bit sidetracked with other board games, plus he's made one himself called "Exploring the Solar System" for a school astronomy project: classic "Monopoly style" board with astronauts advancing on squares around the edge via dice throws, hazards & opportunities to visit planets (based on answering question cards), great fun in class!
Please post an enlarged image of the rules for Space Race, we are definitely ready to blast off!
many thanks,
Kimball
Hi again,
ReplyDeleteI tried to post a reply recently, but it doesn't seem to have taken. I would still really appreciate a clear image of the rules of Space Race, it would get the game up and running again in our household. My apologies for the delay.
Many thanks,
Kimball
Hi when I get some time, will dig it out and take a pic of it =)
