Please tell me I am not crazy for spending as much as I just did for this 48" x 48" vintage Calder-inspired tablecloth? *gulp*
Who was Calder, you ask?
Alexander Calder (22 July 1898 – 11 November 1976), also known as Sandy Calder, was an American sculptor and artist most famous for inventing the mobile.
Click HERE for images of some of his mobiles.
I remember having mobiles hanging from my ceiling (not any Calders, unfortunately) but it was very cool to have one in the mid-century era, as can be attested to the cost of this Calder mobile design table cloth.
I might frame this one and hang it as art in my living room. Or when I run out of money, I may have to resell it on eBay ha ha ha.
